The Impact of Behavior Studies in Urban Design

Abstract

Built environment became failure in many of the own experiences in human aspects, belief has been formed that architects have to learn a profession based on available information through investigation and experience instead of basing on self and critical theories only, on the other hand with the multi-intellectual submissions and the architects relying on intuitive references in designing the built environment.

The despite started to be intensive and agreement being rare to the best technique in design operation thus on emergence of architectural creative work and it information raises the old intellectual dispute between the romantic view to the general, where knowledge is built through intuition and self-experience, and the classic view to science when knowledge is built through the form and building based on logic.  Architecture issue comes through the inability of confining it in either of the previous two theories separately.  The architects have realized the comprehension of the architectural knowledge and its linkage with a wide range of sciences and knowledge fields.

And it became clear that reliance on intuition and self-measurement successfully architect, but it is necessary depend on knowledge based on investigation.

Accordingly, the general problem of the research emerged (creating a built environment capable of positive interaction with residents) through which the specific problem was identified, which is (the lake of a clear vision about the nature of the relationship between building as urban designs and humans as their users) through which the specific problem was identified, which is (the lake of a clear vision about the nature of the relationship between building as urban designs and humans as their users) . The goal of the research was determined by building a comprehensive theoretical farmwork on the nature of the influence between humans as a user of the environment & built environment, and then identifying indicators that help in the finding that relationship based on psychological theories that explain the influence of the environment on people.

The main research hypothesis states: man interacts positively with the built environment with which he coexists contributes to the creation of sustainable spaces that are susceptible to positive interaction.
