The emphasis is on the contribution of grammatical structures and word choices of the main character Ragnar Lothbrok portrayal and mirror of historical impacts that changed English language among other aspects. Engaging the analysis of ideational, interpersonal and textual metafunctions, Systemic Functional Linguistics SFL aids in uncovering the way language is employed by characters to communicate thoughts, establish authority and form connections.
