The Effects of Personality Traits on Foreign Policy Decisions

Abstract

The study examines at how personality traits and psychological aspects impact foreign policy decisions, particularly during war, diplomacy, and perceived threats, and how leadership psychology impacts crisis management and risk diplomacy.

This study aims to evaluate if foreign policy decision-making is influenced by leader personality traits, using descriptive and qualitative methods to analyze data from books, documents, and memoirs. By incorporating theoretical frameworks such as Snyder's decision-making، and psychological models, theories such as (Leader Analysis Traits-LAT, Five Big, Dark trianed) personality behavior and actions، and geopolitical strategy، the study investigate how psychological factors influence leadership choice in foreign policy formulation. The study found that personal qualities and psychological factors had a considerable impact on external decision-making.
