The Role of Performance in the Dynamics of Contemporary Kurdish Art

Abstract

This research is an exploration of The Role of Performance in the Dynamics of Contemporary Kurdish Art, consisting of four main parts. The First Part is dedicated to the special factors of the general frame of the research, including the Problem of Research, the Importance of Research, the Aim of Research, the Outline of Research, and how the terminologies are defined. In the Problem of Research, three questions were presented. The First Question is: Did the Art of Performance among the Kurdish modern Artists exceed a limit in which it embodied its unique identity and specialty? The Second Question is: To what extent was the Art of Performance as a new artistic terminology, embodied in the artificial works of the Kurdish Artists? The third question is: Is the art of performance of Kurdish artists in harmony with the social conditions of Kurdish society? Some terminologies were abbreviated to refer to the importance of the research. The most important ones shed light on the different causes of the invention and the importance of the Art of Performance in the Kurdish Culture. The Aim of this Research was collected discoveries and present the specialties of the Art of Performance in Kurdish Modern Art, and then the Outline of the Research and the terminologies were selected. The Second Part of this Research was dedicated to the theoretical side of the research which was divided into four main factors. The first is the Terminology of Performance. The Second is the Thought and the Factors of Performance. The third is the Art of Performance and its History. The fourth is an Introduction of Inventing Performance in Kurdish Art and selecting the references of the theoretical frame.The Third Part was dedicated to the Procedures of Research including the Society of Research, the Examples of Research, the Creed of Research, the Instrument of Research, and Clarifying the Examples of Research including three examples which the researcher took from the artificial works of the research frame.The Fourth Part was dedicated to the Aim of Research in which the researcher got some results like the following

• Inventing the Art of Performance in Kurdish Art, to a lot of extent, is because and coming of those artists who were fond of researching this form of art.


• The Art of Performance among the Kurdish Modern Artists has reached a level at which it embodied its unique identity and specialty especially after (2015) and from on. In the Kurdistan Region, domestic activists and foreign organizations tried to familiarize the intellectuals, the readers and the artists with the Art of Performance through the intellectual projects and activities.


• The artists participated actively through using different materials in the exhibitions and introducing new mass media like the art of videos and installations. This was a significant contribution to developing and introducing the Art of Performance.


• The artists publicized topics and texts through holding debates and workshops on modern mass media, and they tried to raise the level of intellectualism between both common people and the intellectual society for working on Modern Art.


• The Art of Performance as an artistic medium over-mind a lot about the artistic work in the context of the religious and political matters, gender, and policy. In this way, the Art of Performance rose especially for Political Thought.
