The relationship between titles and subtitles in stories of Raman Magazine

Abstract

This research study focuses on the concept, definition, and role of titles and subtitles in Kurdish stories, specifically in the stories published in "Raman" magazine between 1996-2005. According to the research findings, titles and subtitles hold an important position in the structure of stories and encompass several aspects like semantics, semiology, and aesthetics. Out of 481 published story titles, only 22 stories had subtitles. The research was conducted in two aspects: theoretically, it examines the history, terminology, concepts, definitions, and importance of titles; practically, through analyzing textual examples of the stories, it demonstrates role and impact of titles and subtitles in conveying the meaning and message of the text to the reader. Additionally, descriptive-analytical and statistical analysis methods were used to analyze the topics and reveal the relationship between titles and subtitles, and the results are identified.
