Pragmatics and Meaning Determination in Kurdish Language

Abstract

The title of the research is (Pragmatics and Meaning Determination in Kurdish Language) External influences are the main reason for not reaching the full or absolute meaning of words, sentences, etc. The importance of this research lies in the fact that it is concerned with the issue of fixing meaning, because the instability of meaning has become a problem in the communication process and causes confusion and misunderstanding and has become one of the negative aspects of the language. This study confirms that pragmatics plays a fundamental role in determining meaning by paying attention to the context in which the language is used. Because pragmatics goes beyond the literal meaning of sentences to understand the intentions, purposes and implicit meanings formed by the environment The descriptive analytical approach was followed in this study. Within the framework of the (pragmatic) theory that examines the impact of external influences on understanding the meaning of words and sentences, because this theory sees meaning as a product of the interaction between language and the environment. The content of the research consists of two chapters: the first chapter deals with meaning and meaning change, the second chapter deals with fixing meaning pragmatically, with a brief presentation in both Arabic and English.
