The bright pages from Erbil history in the Ottoman era

Abstract
The Erbil city has witnessed many Crises and Catastrophes in its Inveterate history, but its historical record is also full of many bright pages, which the city and its Residents are proud of. Our main purpose in this research is to show these bright pages and highlight their effective, to investigation them historically. But we will only take the Ottoman period, which lasted for about four centuries (1514 - 1918). Because there is no much historical research about the events of that era. In the other hand, an attempt of this kind serves the attempts to writing the history of the cities, which has its importance in historiography .
After writing a necessary preliminary about the expansion and demography of Erbil during the Ottoman period, we moved to the core of the subject: The bright pages which presented during the research, some of them related to the position of Erbil in the Ottoman Empire from the politicaladministrative point of view. Others show Erbil's strategic and economic importance. The role of some of the Erbil governors in the history of the city and the region in general, was also reflected. Of course, we did not neglect the attitude of ordinary residents of the city, who had a prominent role in some events. We have addressed all these aspects in various themes. In the last themes we talked about the role of some Erbil tribes in the midst of events .
