Affection and Mercy Between Spouses in Quran and Sunnah

Abstract

God has certainly put in marriage kinship among families, tribes, and nations, and it is a reason for the perpetuation of humanity, however this does not complete except with affection and mercy between the wife and the husband, therefore I named the title of the research (affection and mercy between spouses in Quran and Sunnah) , and because Sharia has come for the sake of organizing the human life in general and especially the family, and more specifically the couples.

I started by introducing the research title, and then went to the significance of affection and mercy between the wife and the husband, and after that, to the most important means of maintaining and strengthening affection and mercy between couples, as those means have high benefits in this respect, and they are the keys to getting into the heart, and a guide to both sexes to reach happiness. Some of the means are shared by both couples, whereas some others are specific to the husband, and some others specific to the wife.

I ended the research with the consequences of the presence and absence of affection and mercy between couples.

I have adopted the inductive and analytical approach by which I gathered and studied the Ayahs and prophet's sayings according to the Essentials (al-Osool), and inserted them to their understandable titles.

And I reached that carelessness, ignoring the family home, irresponsiblility, ignorance about sexual education, and the misunderstanding and misuse of musculine power by men, and choosing (life partner) on emotional grounds without consultation, Estikhara (guidance seeking) and competency, all these will impact the marital relationship negatively and will cause many problems.
