The Characteristics of Modernism in (Zimara Dly) Short Story Collection by Amjad Obaid as an Example

Abstract

This research is titled “The Characteristics of Modernism in (Zimara Dly) Short Story Collection as an Example.” This research is an attempt at explaining and understanding the characteristics of modernism; the nature of its beginnings, influence and presence in Kurdish short stories. The research also explores how each characteristic has been utilized in the short story collection and the establishment of the characteristics as a general paradigm on route to the Kurdish short story development.

The research defines and explains short stories and in addition, the most important characteristics of modernism in Kurdish short stories are discussed and practically analyzed in the collection in question; using a descriptive and analytical approach as it is the approach of choice for a study of this nature.

As a result, the selected collection of short stories appears to exhibit and utilize the characteristics of modernism expertly.
