Language Policy in the Federal System: Example: Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Abstract

This study is entitled “Language Policy in the Federal system: The Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government as an Example”. In order to implement language policy, the study examines the development of Kurdish language and languages ​​of ethnic communities In reality, they often fail to promote these rights efficiently. The Ministry of Education is the source of the research. It aims to find out how this ministry implements a useful language policy for the Kurdish language. Does it effectively play its role in preserving and developing the Kurdish language or not? Finally, the study recommends changing government policies and providing a clear and effective strategy for the development of Kurdish and other community languages ​​within the federal system.
