The Role of Bowed String Instruments In Kurdish Music (Erbil City for Example)

Abstract
It is a qualitative study based on the descriptive-analytical method. The instruments of the bowed family, which refers to the arco series (orchestra), in this study include: (violin, viola, cello, contrabass or double bass), which are essential instruments, have a prominent position in terms of Usage, sound, different layers, timbre and technique. They play an essential role in many styles of peoples music. They also reflect several methods and topics of musical science. In the field of Kurdish music, the role and participation of each of these instruments are worth mentioning.
