Abstract

This study aimed to identify the problems of teaching history from the point of view of supervisors and teachers. The researcher used the descriptive (analytical) approach to achieve the objectives of the study. The study population consists of male and female teachers and supervisors of social sciences in the basic schools of education in the Erbil plain, whose numbers are (590) teachers and (40) supervisors. The researcher chose (140) male and female teachers in the teaching of social sciences at random, where the sample of supervisors was limited to the social sciences subject for the subject of history in particular (3) supervisors, then the researcher implemented the procedure and distributed the research tool, which is a questionnaire to teachers and supervisors. Using the fifth (Likart) organized scale, which consisted of (6) domains related to teaching problems related to (teaching methods, teaching aids, teachers, curricula and textbooks, evaluation, educational supervisor), which included (60) items. After that, the data and information were collected, entered and put under the solution using the SPSS statistical program to extract the stability of the paragraphs. The research finally reached some conclusions, including knowing the level of teaching problems by fields. The agreement percentage is 62.42% and the level of teaching problems according to all the differences (domain, gender, years of experience and profession) from each of them that there are no differences and none of these variables are statistically significant because the result of each of them is greater than the significance level (0.05).
