Requirements for using artificial intelligence applications in Erbil schools to improve the educational process from the teachers' perspective

Abstract

The research aims to reveal the requirements for using Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in Erbil schools to develop the educational process from the teachers' point of view. And to measure the differences between the sample scores according to the variables: (gender, academic qualification, and number of years of experience). The research relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the research sample included (548) male and female teachers from Erbil Governorate schools. A questionnaire containing (86) items was applied, which included five axes: (cognitive requirements and teacher skills, organizational requirements, human requirements, technical requirements, and ethical requirements). The most prominent results were: The level of need for the requirements for using Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in Erbil schools to develop the educational process from the teachers' point of view in the questionnaire was high. There is a difference in the research questionnaire according to the academic qualification in favor of the master's category, and there is no difference according to: (gender, number of years of experience). The study concluded that it is necessary to hold training courses to encourage and motivate teachers to use AI applications. It is also necessary to provide the necessary equipment and infrastructure to use AI applications in education, which will increase their competitiveness among learners. Teachers need to find time to focus on developing their performance and actively modernize the education they provide for the younger generation.
