‏ Prehistoric Pottery in the Museum of the Department of Archaeology at Salahaddin University: Analytical Study

Abstract

This research examines a number of pottery items preserved in the Museum of the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts, dating back to various periods in prehistory. This study attempts to classify and identify several samples from a different piece of pottery that has not yet been Published.The research examines the history of the ancient pottery industry and its technical development, focusing on its forms and methods of use, along with all the tools and materials used by ancient humans in pottery making.

Among the topics of this research is the investigation and analysis of clay, based on the principles followed in academic and archaeological research, by drawing clay pieces. This study was able to identify the type of clay and provide information about human living conditions in prehistoric times.
