The Role of Hazhar Mukriani in the September Revolution (1961-1975)

Abstract

Hejar Mukriyani stands as a prominent figure in Kurdish history. Following the fall of the Kurdistan Republic in 1946, he sought refuge in Southern Kurdistan (Iraqi Kurdistan). After Mustafa Barzani's return from the Soviet Union to Iraq, Hejar established a lasting alliance with him, permanently joining Barzani's movement.

During the September Revolution (1961-1975), Hejar Mukriyani served both as a Peshmerga fighter and journalist, making significant contributions particularly in the revolution's media operations. Although primarily known as a poet and literary figure, his role as a journalist remains less recognized despite its considerable impact.This research aims to thoroughly examine Hejar Mukriyani's role in the September Revolution (1961-1975), both as a Peshmerga fighter and journalist.This research adopts a descriptive-historical approach, founded on the collection and presentation of historical data regarding Hejar Mukriyani's role in the September Revolution.The research seeks to address key questions: What was Hejar's role and influence in the revolution's media operations? What was his position and contribution as a Peshmerga within the September Revolution?
