Naming process in Kurdish

Abstract

Personal name is one of the most important issues in human life, which has become one of the needs of the individual in society, which is given to the person at birth, to distinguish him from others.

The naming process is a comprehensive process, and the Kurds are not exempt from this process. When a child is born, he is named immediately, and the name is chosen by the family depending on several criteria.

In this study, we have mentioned the name change between the past and the present, the influence of political situation, technological advances and familiarity of Kurds with foreign names, as well as historical, religious and national feelings that are the main reasons for name change.
