Linguistic diversity and Multilingualism, their consequences on the process of language teaching and acquisition in the school environment: Elementary stage as an example

Abstract

Language is a means of communication between individuals and the formation of families, societies and nations. Language is a strong link between an individual and his society, so language expresses an individual's existence and identity and is part of his personality to express his goals and objectives in society.

In today's world, with the scientific advances and scientific and technical revolutions that occur in various scientific, technological and human fields in the age of speed and information technology in the world, have facilitated communication between different societies Communities are happening more.

It has become part of the language struggle with other languages ​​due to the development, cultural openness, civilizational clashes and the dominance of the languages ​​of the strongest scientifically and technically, so that individuals try to learn different languages ​​to speak two or more different languages. Able to express needs and intentions and communicate with others in more than one language.

In this view, multilingualism is the use of more than one language by a single speaker or group of speakers. There seem to be more multilingual speakers than monolingual speakers in the world population. In this context, multilingualism has become a major issue in the educational system, which plays an important role in the design of education, especially at the basic level and the degree of coordination of students within the languages ​​(Kurdish, Arabic, English). If we take a quick look at the language culture in the school environment, especially in the primary stage, which is considered the most important stage in the education and life of the student, does it help to prepare students effectively, as it focuses on students' cognitive and linguistic abilities.
