The threats of deepfake and its reflection on the professionalism of new media messages on political issues

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to identify the threats of deepfake on the professionalism of new media messages about political issues from the perspective of electronic journalists in the Kurdistan Region.

The sample was chosen intentionally, non-randomly, based on the researcher’s conviction that electronic media professionals are the most familiar with digital technologies and the various forms of new media, and therefore, the subject of the research is closer to them. The most important findings of the study are that the risks of deep fraud reflect on the professionalism of new media messages on political issues in the Kurdistan Region.
