Abstract

The study aimed to build the scale of bullying behavior and measure it among students of Salahaddin University / Erbil- Kurdistan Region. The sample of the study consisted of (385) male and female students from Salahaddin University – Erbil, from the two humanitarian and scientific majors, from both sexes and from the four study stages. The two researchers built a scale of bullying behavior consisting of (40) items in its final form. The two researchers verified the psychometric properties of the scale, as they verified the validity of the scale by the two methods of face validity and content validity. The two researchers also verified the reliability of the scale by the methods of re-testing and internal homogeneity through the use of the Cronbach’s alpha equation, and they also verified the psychometric properties of each of the scale items. The Chi-square test, Cronbach’s alpha equation, one-sample t-test, two-independent sample t-test, and three-way analysis of variance by interaction were used as statistical methods for data analysis and for achieving the research objectives. The study resulted in the following:

1-The presence of bullying behavior among students of Salahaddin University at the level of significance ( 0.05).

2-The presence of statistically significant differences for the threeway interaction according to the variables ( major, gender, stage) at the level of significance ( 0.05) on the bullying behavior scale.

At the end of the research, the researchers presented a number of recommendations and proposals to complete the research and benefit from them in the future.
