Abstract

This study investigates the analysis and recognition of compounding and shows the differences with the inflection and derivation. This work has been carried out on  some examples taken from the French and Kurdish dictionaries, which have been determined by investigating the morphological analysis of the two languages and the differences between the two languages in the process word formation process is done, as well as the differences between compounding, derivation and inflection is shown. First of all, the research starts with a general introduction nd then it talks about and defines roots, stems, morphemes, lexems, words, and bases, and talks about an important tool of word forming new words which is affix. Then a detailed discussion about dervation and infection is given, and finally discusses compounding in detail, which gives many definitions and how to recognize the compounds, the heads of compounds and the types of them are decribed.
