Abstract

Archaeological survey in the district of Shaqlawa is practically and critically important to ensure that archaeological sites serve as key points for the topics of historical research, while also acting as a necessary alert to ensure the protection of these sites from looting and the safeguarding of their preservation from non-specialists and unskilled individuals. This study relates to conducting archaeological and heritage surveying of the archaeological sites in the district of Shaqlawe, using a field method where for the first time in these boundaries an academic and scientific archaeological survey will be carried out; with a focus on the historical and geographical aspects of the area, the main aim is to research, document, and preserve the archaeological and heritage sites by applying fieldwork and examining the various types of archaeological sites such as caves and shelters, archaeological settlements, residential areas, cemeteries, ruins, castles, and walls, then focusing on both ancient and modern archaeological works in the region; ultimately, the focus will be on implementing the key landmark in the most important archaeological and heritage sites in the district of Shaqlawe, which will be of great significance for researchers and specialists in history, serving as a benefit for the study of this area in terms of increasing historical knowledge and extracting aspects of ancient life and flourishing civilization in general.
