Abstract

Incorporating English vocabulary into Kurdish may negatively impact Kurdish learners' proficiency in speaking English as a Foreign Language. What are the possible reasons for its occurrence? Is it beneficial for individuals who are studying Kurdish in Iraq? Upon initial observation, it appears to be typical as it is rooted in its own framework of primary language. The issue originates at this point, potentially leading to a form of overgeneralization in the individual's native language. Each language has its unique system that distinguishes it from others. Within the system, there are content or portions, such as syntax and grammar, that possess unique requirements in different languages. These specifications, when applied to other languages, become irrelevant and consequently lead to issues and errors. Linguistically, there exists a phenomenon known as lexical borrowing, whereby words from one language get assimilated into another. It is mutually reciprocal. The extensive vocabulary that offers additional opportunities in various scientific disciplines often excludes the involvement of benefactors. Is it possible to substitute loanwords with equivalent words in the speech or other content we are discussing? Loanwords are a universal occurrence seen in all languages, albeit with certain exceptions. The interplay among all languages is founded on the practice of assimilating words from one another. The introduction of foreign terms into the Kurdish language will inevitably have an impact on its native tongue. This is a universal law that applies to all languages spoken by living beings worldwide.
