Reflection of the events of the September Revolution in the poetry of Koya poets in the years (1961- 1975)

Abstract

Koya is one of the ancient Kurd’s city and has an old history. It is known for the literate and educated people, especially in the twenty’s century. Most of the well-known poets of Kurdistan are from Koya, including: Asi, Zainabkhan, Sami Awdal, Khusha Frishta, Pishko, Khalid Dler, Dyare, Awni and. The content of their poems was about politics, romance, Kurd-ship, national, social etc.

One of the factors of motivating the poet’s feelings were the events of their time. That is why as the revolution in September 11, 1961 starts and the Iraqi’s attack on south of Kurdistan, these events become a spark in stirring their feelings and emotions and they support and narrate the revolution through their poems. In addition, they motivate people to take part in the revolution and get ready for sacrifice to get it succeeded.
