Abstract

The active teaching strategies in collaborative way is considered as one of the modern strategies that deals with changing teaching methods in the classroom.

The research aims at the following:

1-Identifying the effect of active teaching strategies in collaborative way on the 11th grade students’ achievement in history subject.

2- Identifying the effect of active teaching strategies in collaborative way in developing the trend of the 11th grade students towards history subject

The researcher used an experimental research design for two balanced sample groups of students, control and experimental. The experimental group was taught based on the active learning strategy in collaborative way, whereas the controlled one was taught by the traditional teaching method.

Two research tools have been used:

First: An achievement test of 44 various items covering the six cognitive domains of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, synthesizing and evaluation.

Second: the trend development test of 40 items.

The researcher checked the validity and reliability of both tests and they were found appropriate for use. After the data analysis with the use of SPPS-Version21 software, the researcher concluded the following:

1-There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean of the experimental group of students and the controlled group in cognitive achievement of history in favor of the experimental group.

2- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean of the experimental group of students and the controlled group in the trend development towards history in favor of the experimental group.

The researcher has come to the following conclusions:

  1. Using active teaching strategy in cooperative way in trend developing towards history has a significant role in that it helps the students become more active and center of learning compared to the traditional method.

2. Using active teaching strategy in cooperative way in teaching history to the eleventh graders has an effective and significant role on the cognitive achievement compared to the traditional teaching method.
